    The Agricultural Market Development Trust (AGMARK) has a sound track record of providing effective capacity building solutions to the Agri-inputs and output markets in Eastern, Western and Southern Africa. Based in Nairobi Kenya, AGMARK has implemented Agri-enterprise based projects in over 20 countries, working with rural entrepreneurs to increase agriculture productivity by improving access to inputs and farming technologies.

    Leading development agencies, such USAID, AGRA, Rockefeller Foundation, COMESA, WFP, FAO, DFID, AFAP, Land O’Lakes, IFDC and public clients have entrusted AGMARK with strategic partnerships to undertake projects financed through bilateral and multilateral funding arrangements. Working in close co-operation with stakeholders in government, the private sector and citizens’ groups, AGMARK’s needs-based approach to capacity development has become a significant contribution to achieving the objective of food security and improved livelihoods in rural communities, in areas where it has implemented programs.

AGMARK’s key areas of intervention include the promotion of agrodealers (Farm Input Dealers) through building their business skills and technical capacities, linking them to financial institutions, promoting the structuring of the profession through the Agrodealer HUB spoke model, and developing input subsidy programs as well as designing and implementing pro-poor smallholder led fund mobilization models.
